Do you think that the Dixie Chicks might agree to change their group name to the more accurate Yankee Whores?

Subtitled: Why Mommy is Just Stupid
Gmail brought up a link on the stupid book, “Why Mommy is a Democrat.” The book features squirels (nut eating rodents, just like Democrats!) and in the background is always a bum looking on enviously at the successful Republican family or an elephant (Mr. Fu thinks Democrats hate Alabama). Of course the bum could go get a job but he prefers to hang out in parks in the presense of underaged squirels. What kind of message are they trying to send?
Featured quotes from the sample pages:
“Democrats make sure we all share our toys, just like Mommy does.”
Mommy threatens us at the point of a gun and she will lock us up like the IRS if we do not share our paychecks either. Mommy will also harrass us making us spend thousands in lawyer fees and won’t explain which law we are breaking.
“Democrats make sure we are always safe, just like Mommy does.”
By disarming everyone so the biggest and strongest thugs and illegal aliens always win, and make sure that the police and the Border Patrol cannot stop the crime. And by releasing serial criminals to prey on the innocent members of society. Mommy lobbies to have pedaphiles released from prison move into our neighborhood too. This is re-defined as “safety.”
“Democrats make sure children can go to school, just like Mommy does.”
Everyone gets to go a the same kind of crappy government school where we learn that Thomas Jefferson was great because he wrote the separation of church and state into the U.S. Constitution (he didn’t), but that he was a rotten White bastard for developing the practice of smoking a cigarette after having sex with a slave.
Republican Party Gets One Right, Finally
“Early Warning” Just Another Leftist Screech
METAPHOR referenced this in The Bleat yesterday. William Arkin, Washington Post writer on National and Homeland Security writes his opinion on how inappropriate the opinions of our American soldiers in Iraq are when these men and women in uniform express an unfavorable opinion of those Americans who do not support the war.
The soldiers did not pick the war, they were ordered to prosecute it. They were not asked their opinions, they were ordered to fight, and it is their honor and duty to carry out those orders. Perhaps the concepts of duty and honor are foreign to Mr. Arkin?
The soldiers should be grateful? For what? What support have you given the troops, Mr. Arkin? What respect have you shown them? On the one hand you suggest they are entitled to have an opinion, but on the other hand you suggest that they should keep their opinions to themselves? Mr. Fu suggests that you should practice what you preach.
They did not say you did not have the right to express your opinion. They just said they were confused by the contradictions inherent in your opinion. Mr. Fu does not say you do not have a right to express your opinion. Mr. Fu just notes that your opinion is contradictory and therefore stupid.
<Waving arms at his side> Bah! The survival of the United States is not at stake. Here is the realistic scenario: The Left takes power and puts the government into appeasement mode. Then the terrorists start to hit targets in the United States again. After enough Leftists have been killed* the rest of the Left will have a 9/12 moment and scream that something must be done. The Right with their representives in the military will come to the rescue again. And after the terrorists are once again put on the run, the Left will quickly revert to 9/10 mode.
The belief of the people was expressed in the Congressional vote to take out Saddam Hussein. The people can continue to express their opinion through their elected respresentatives. And the true opinion of the people can be noted in the fact that the House of Representatives has not de-funded the war or passed a resolution to stop it. That is the way the system works. Perhaps those like Mr. Arkin would prefer a more streamlined system, but most of America is not yet ready to accept a Soviet style government. Call them kooky about such things.
And mercenary? Mr. Fu questions how aware Mr. Arkin is with military pay scales by referencing the previous quote “we pay the soldiers a decent wage” (Mr. Arkin may support the minimum wage increase as well, bringing into question his grasp of economics). Mercenaries would not work so cheaply, even Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner demands his fair wage. Mr. Fu wonders if Mr. Arkin does not know the cost of fighting because Mr. Arkin is a yellow bellied boot licking coward – oops, possibly a soft coward – (Mr. Fu’s fingers slipped and he apparently has no way of deleting text once it has been typed) who never fought for anything substantial in his life. Mr. Fu wonders this about a great many individuals on the Left.
America needs to ponder what it is we really owe those in uniform.
It is obvious what the people owe those in uniform: oil. This war is all about blood for oil, right? And since those in uniform have been shedding their blood in this war then they should receive oil in payment. Is Mr. Arkin even paying attention to what his people are saying?
The key to Mr. Arkin’s opinion his his view that Americans in uniform are mercenaries. Mercenaries get paid to fight and die, and they can just keep their mouths shut and perish their opinions of the people who pay them. Apparently Mr. Arkin thinks our troops work personally for him and he does not care to hear the opinions of “his” minions.
Of course, Mr. Fu should not bother to write about this. The comments on the article alone are sufficient reply. Especially the comment by So Called Mercenary:
You are just as bad as the people out there who do spit on Veterans. Mocking us? Calling us Mercenaries? There is nothing I can say that will make you feel remorse, or even a sense of wrong doings from your words. I can at least go to sleep tonight knowing that you sir, while being a low life scum bag, will always have the freedom to denigrate your betters, because I and millions of others have been willing to protect your safety.
“The freedom to denigrate your betters,” is well put. Other comments are just polite and amusing, like Ross McDowell:
Mr. Arkin,
I would like to extend an invitation to you for Sunday lunch at my home in rural North Carolina. We shall feast and you will enjoy our Southern hospitality.
However, please note that as soon as the eatin’s done, I gonna stomp your sorry ass into a greasy spot. So consider that before accepting the invite.
Practically everything you said in this article is offensive to any real American.
Or AFSarge:
I don’t blame you for being priggish, insolent, inept, and ignorant of the daily sacrifices we perform to make sure you can sound like the south end of a northbound horse. I signed up to serve my country, all of it, not just those who truly appreciate the fact that I serve.
Amen, brother.
* Note: Why Leftists getting killed and not regular Americans? The terrorists will not strike much in the Red States. They may score a hit or two in the beginning, but only until the deer rifles come out and the people start policing like Red Staters do when the feces is flung into the air mobility device. Once that happens the terrorist cowards will target the nice soft Blue Staters where they will face unarmed sheep instead of regular Americans. Mr. Arkin is far closer to a terrorist target (asssuming he lives around the District of Columbia) than is Mr. Fu and his highly armed and trained friends in Alabama.
